Job Overview: QCM-Superintendent

The individual must be familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1 and have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance. The individual must be capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings. Responsible for providing project control and direction, as well as monitoring, correcting and reporting on the status of the construction activities. Implement the "Three Phase of Control" plan for each DFOW and quality control activities and reports.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Implement the "Three Phase of Control" plan for each DFOW and quality control activities and reports.
  • Supervises all field construction activities.
  • Assists the subcontractor in obtaining necessary clearances, permits and storage area.
  • Schedules material delivery, work crews and subcontractor activities to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct and record weekly safety meetings and minutes, and ensure that safety equipment is maintained correctly.
  • Provide daily maintenance to the as-built drawings to ensure compliance with the contract.
  • Maintain regular communications with supervisor regarding project status and current issues.
  • Maintain a current inventory of all owned, leased or rented equipment.
  • Verifies work in place, computes its value for progress payment purposes.
  • Inspects contractors’ workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with specifications for on-going and completed work.
  • Monitors all stages of construction to identify potential problems. Reports problems and recommends solutions to the Project Manager
  • Audits, analyzes, and provides evaluation of performance to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, stipulations, and standards.
  • Ensures adherence to the Allied Pacific Builders Field Safety Program, and the EM 385 and strives to maintain an accident-free environment.
  • Performs and documents safety audits reporting findings to the Project Manager
  • Investigates accidents and ensures any needed corrective actions are completed.
  • Ensures project complies with all safety regulations as well as state and or contractual standards to avoid fines, civil penalties or criminal prosecution.
  • May assist in training or supervising new employees.
  • Promotes quality and excellence in customer service.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Mandatory Job Requirements:

  • A graduate of a four year accredited college or university program in one of the following disciplines: Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science.
  • Ten (10) years of experience on construction projects to include five (5) years of supervisory experience and minimum 2 years experience as a QC Manager for military projects
  • Current CQM certificate
  • Current 30-hour OSHA safety class certificate and 40hr EM-385-1-1 safety awareness
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Employment and continued employment is dependent on base access clearances.
