JOB DESCRIPTION


General Purpose

To plan and carry out all sales activities on assigned accounts or areas. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and managing quality of product and service delivery.

This position reports to the General Manager.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
  • Answer customer’s questions about products, prices, availability, product uses and payment terms.
  • Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customer’s needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Emphasize product features based on analyses of customers’ needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Ensure customer understanding of equipment maintenance requirements as appropriate.
  • Refer maintenance requests to Service Manager.
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing customers, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
  • Quote prices and other bid specifications.
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales agreements.
  • Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained and submit orders timely for processing.
  • Maintain customer records, using existing automated systems.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
  • Establish rapport with other departments and staff as necessary.
  • Tasked with increasing revenue through sales quotas.
  • Assist to develop other related product lines.  
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 5+ years of sales experience required.
  • HVAC experience and Food service experience a plus.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good time management and organizational abilities. Must be detailed oriented.
  • Innovation in thought process.
  • Desire to achieve goals, both personal and professional.
  • Hard work ethic and willingness to work flexible schedule dependent on workflow.
  • Experience in a role where the phrase “customer first” was practiced daily.
