STATION AGENTS (Terminal Operations: Passenger & Cargo Services)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Station Agent is the critical first point of contact for all STAR Marianas Air customers in Guam. This high-responsibility role integrates rigorous cargo logistics with exceptional passenger service. You will manage the secure, accurate, and hospitable processing of both passengers and cargo shipments, ensuring that all safety, regulatory, and payment protocols are strictly enforced prior to flight.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (PASSENGER SERVICES):

  • Customer Intake & Ticketing: Perform professional passenger check-in, verify identities and required travel documentation, and process ticket sales and modifications using the reservation system.
  • Passenger Security & Safety: Conduct mandatory security questions and screening protocols for all passengers. Identify and prohibit the travel of unauthorized individuals or those deemed unsafe to fly.
  • Baggage Processing: Accurately weigh all passenger checked and carry-on luggage, enforce baggage policies, and immediately attach piece-level identifiers/tags to maintain strict accountability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (CARGO SERVICES & LOGISTICS):

  • Security & Hazmat Screening: Conduct mandatory safety and security screenings for all incoming cargo shipments. Verify shipper/consignee identities, enforce strict cargo packaging robustness, and reject all prohibited items (e.g., firearms, dangerous goods).
  • Electronic Database Entry (AWB): Create and input serialized Air Waybill (AWB) data directly into the Cargo Management System. Ensure precise data association for regular and consortium clients to guarantee accurate pricing and accounting.
  • Cargo Physicality: Stabilize and record precise physical scale weights. Calculate dimensional volume rules (L × W × H ÷ 166) for large/light packages. Generate and immediately attach individual piece-level Lot Labels.
  • Payment & Financial Integrity: Process all origin payments (Cash, Check, Credit) for both tickets and cargo shipments. Match payments with serialized station receipt numbers and verify authorized accounts against current Station Authorization Lists.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and cash handling.
  • Strong basic math skills for weight calculations and dimensional volume.
  • Proficiency in using databases, reservation systems, and point-of-sale software.
  • A strong commitment to aviation safety and compliance with all TSA and regulatory screening standards.

Ramp Agents (Ground Operations & Cargo Logistics)

Job Title: Ramp Agent (Ground Operations & Cargo Logistics)

Location: Guam Station (GUM)

Reports To: Station Manager / Ramp Lead

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Ramp Agent manages the critical physical logistics on the tarmac and in the warehouse, ensuring the safe, efficient, and precise movement of passengers, luggage, and freight. This role requires organizational mastery to organize and stage all physical freight according to complex load plans, execute secure aircraft loading/unloading operations, and maintain strict adherence to aircraft weight and balance limits under pilot supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cargo Intake & Visual Audit: Receive all cargo from the counter team and immediately verify physical piece counts and attached lot label data against hard-copy paperwork to ensure 100% data integrity.
  • FIFO Control & Warehouse Staging: Segregate and organize cargo systematically within warehouse bays by final destination and special handling needs (e.g., Hazmat, Cold Storage, Priority). Maintain absolute physical separation of specialized cargo.
  • Compartment-Specific Load Planning: Analyze complex flight layouts and build cargo carts tailored to the specific door and compartment physical limits of the aircraft (e.g., PA-32 Cherokee Six nose/aft, and PA-31 Navajo Chieftain nose, aft, and engine nacelle wing lockers).
  • FIFO Enforcement: Position all staged carts strictly in First-In, First-Out (FIFO) order, ensuring older freight always moves first to maximize efficiency and prevent delays.
  • Aircraft Load Execution: In coordination with flight crew, securely load, position, and restrain all cargo (freight and passenger baggage) inside the aircraft. Reconcile physical cart weights inside the database and execute operations under the direct oversight of the Pilot and In-Flight Auditor to maintain center-of-gravity compliance.
  • Passenger Safety Assistance: Manage passenger movement on the ramp, ensuring their safe transit between the terminal and the aircraft. Assist with passenger boarding as needed, maintaining strict safety zones on the tarmac.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Exceptional organization and the ability to manage complex spatial staging.
  • Physical stamina required to lift, move, and restrain heavy objects (cargo and luggage) repeatedly.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to specific technical requirements for different aircraft types and weight/balance charts.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in varied weather conditions.
  • A strong commitment to safety and the ability to work collaboratively with pilots and operational staff.
