Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Construction Leadman – Mechanical to join our team on a temporary, part-time basis. The ideal candidate will support our mechanical construction projects by leading a crew in the installation of HVAC, refrigeration, and piping systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring job site efficiency, crew coordination, and quality workmanship in line with JWS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee mechanical field crews on job sites including HVAC, refrigeration, ductwork, piping, and equipment installation
• Work closely with the Superintendent or Project Manager to manage daily construction activities and schedule adherence
• Interpret and work from mechanical blueprints, plans, and shop drawings
• Coordinate subcontractors and in-house trades to complete phases of mechanical work
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality control protocols
• Track material needs, deliveries, and inventory to avoid project delays
• Mentor and train junior mechanics and apprentices on proper installation techniques
• Maintain field records, including daily activity reports and man-hour logs
• Assist in inspections, equipment start-ups, and commissioning when required

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of mechanical construction experience (HVAC/refrigeration systems)
• Prior experience as a leadman, foreman, or crew lead preferred
• Strong understanding of duct systems, chilled water piping, walk-in boxes, and compressor/condenser units
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
• Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments related to HVAC and refrigeration work
• Knowledge of local building codes, job site safety (OSHA), and best practices
• Ability to communicate clearly with project stakeholders and team members
• Valid driver`s license and reliable transportation preferred
• EPA 608 Certification is a plus

Working Conditions

• Job sites vary across commercial and government locations throughout Guam
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in indoor/outdoor conditions, occasionally on ladders or scaffolds
• Flexible hours depending on project schedule and availability
• This is a temporary, part-time role, ideal for experienced tradesmen seeking flexible project work
• Possibility for full-time transition based on performance and company needs

Compensation

• Hourly wage: $28.00 – $35.00, depending on experience and certifications
• Overtime pay may apply for hours exceeding scheduled work
