We are currently seeking a Mechanic Helper to assist our maintenance team in servicing and repairing our fleet of waste collection vehicles and equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined and looking to grow in the trade.

MECHANIC HELPER      

Starting Rate:  $10.25 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanics with inspections, maintenance, and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment
• Retrieve tools, parts, and equipment as directed by lead mechanics
• Perform basic tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
• Clean and maintain the shop, tools, and work areas
• Help with documentation and inventory of parts and supplies
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment
• Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
• Must have dependable attendance
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work well in a team environment
• Prior experience in vehicle maintenance or a mechanical shop is a plus
