MECHANIC SHOP PARTSMAN

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Read parts catalogs or computer displays in order to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
• Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
• Assist in repair parts over the counter sales transactions and produce customer sales receipts.
• Mark and store parts in stockrooms according to prearranged systems.
• Examine returned parts for defects and exchange defective parts for refund money.
• Responsible for recording all receiving reports for issue manifest. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Must be a high school graduate or its equivalent.
• Must be proficient in basic mathematics with the ability to make simple estimations.
• Must be computer literate. 
• Must have at least one-year related experience in parts and warehouse activities.
• Must have customer service skills.
• Must have administrative and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Must have good verbal communication and comprehension skills. 
• The ability to drive a 3-ton forklift is a plus.
• Must be able to work fulltime which may include Saturdays as needed.
• Must possess a valid driver`s license.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift a maximum of 45 pounds.
• Must be prepared to work in an environment requiring physical activity as it relates to the position therefore, must have full use of hands/arms/legs with full range of motion. Will be required to stand, kneel, and walk from location to location.
• Must be able to work in an environment where noise level can be somewhat higher than norm.
