You will serve as an INSULATOR (NUCLEAR) in the NUCLEAR REGIONAL MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT at GUAM Detachment of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.
You will plan and lay out work, develop patterns, cut, form, join, assemble, evaluate quality, and install all types of insulating materials.
You will estimate and select the types and amounts of insulation required considering the computations, size, shape, temperature, accessibility, environment, and physical appearance of the item or system.
You will cover items that are irregular in shape, angle, or require special layout due to bends and curves.
You will work with materials in sheet form, molded forms, blocks, or pads to remove/fabricate/apply insulation to the surfaces of pipes, ducts, irregular shaped valves, fittings, tanks, turbines, refrigeration units, or similar components.
You will plan and lay out insulation to make repairs and modifications to areas on surface ships, submarines, and/or naval facilities.
