CNC Machinist IV (Swiss) - 2nd or 3rd Shift

Compensation: $32-$40/hour + $5.00 shift premium

Overview

A precision manufacturing organization in the Cincinnati area is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist IV with strong Swiss machining and programming capabilities. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist who enjoys working in a high-precision environment and takes pride in programming, optimizing, and producing complex components.

This is a direct-hire opportunity offering competitive pay, shift differentials, performance incentives, and strong benefits. Overtime is available but not mandatory.

Available shifts:

• 2nd Shift: Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm
• 3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday, 10:30pm-7:00am

Key Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs directly from engineering drawings and specifications
• Select and define appropriate tooling for each new program
• Document setup parameters, process adjustments, and production details for traceability
• Optimize programs to improve cycle times while maintaining quality standards
• Diagnose and resolve machining issues including tool wear, programming errors, and equipment concerns
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and assist in mentoring team members when needed
• Operate and monitor multiple CNC machines during a shift

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3-5+ years of experience programming and operating Swiss CNC machines
• Experience working with Mill-Turn equipment preferred
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work overtime when business needs require

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Tsugami or similar Swiss-style equipment
• Background in high-precision manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (4+ hours per shift)
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds consistently
• Comfortable managing multiple machines simultaneously
