Job Description
Seeking an experienced part-time Nurse Practitioner to deliver advanced oncology care in a mission-driven, community-focused health system southeast of Columbus, OH.
Position Overview & Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients under the direction of collaborating physicians
Obtain medical, family, and social histories and assess patient and family needs
Perform physical exams, recognize deviations from normal, and collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans
Refer patients for diagnostics, surgical, and psychological services as appropriate
Document findings, plans, and interventions accurately in the medical record
Provide patient and family education, supporting informed health decisions and promoting optimal use of healthcare resources
Participate as an interdisciplinary team member, collaborating with oncologists and other healthcare providers
Contribute to health education and outreach programs for individuals and groups
Evaluate care effectiveness and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Pursue professional growth through continuing education, literature review, and experience-sharing
Uphold the organization's Mission, Vision, Standards of Behavior, and Service Goals
Requirements:
Nurse Practitioner with active Ohio license and national certification
Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Functions within the scope of practice defined by the Advanced Nurse Practice Act
Oncology experience preferred; will acquire Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and AOCNP designation within set timeframes
Demonstrates clinical skill and judgment in adult patient care under physician collaboration
Strong communication skills to build effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Flexible, adaptable, and able to thrive in a collegial environment
Commitment to clinical excellence through continuing education
Current BCLS certification
Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer systems
