This position may include nights and weekends and plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the intake desk and Columbus Service Point, ensuring guests understand the services and support available to them. Additionally, this role is primarily responsible for answering the Homeless Hotline, offering essential guidance and connection to resources.We are currently hiring only for 2nd shift, with schedules available from 4:00pm- 12:30am.If you want to create meaningful, positive change in the lives of others, this is definitely the job for you!1. Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.2. Serves as the initial point of contact when guests enter the Van Buren Center.3. Performs intakes with new guests by interviewing them and identifying needs4. Performs exit interviews with guests leaving the facility5. Performs entries and exits in Columbus Service Point in accordance with all current CSB requirements.6. Performs transitions between programs for guests in CSP and bed list.7. Documents needs of guests for late curfew, employment, school schedules via Van Buren procedures8. Maintains active and inactive codes in systems 289. Completes intake folders with new guests and make sure all required forms are signed and dated10. Answers the phone at the intake desk in a professional manner11. Maintains the bed list and other reports as needed.12. Communicates changes to the Coordinated Point of Access via phone and email13. Communicates special guest needs to the Service Coordinator14. Ensures guests sign in and out appropriately15. Utilizes incident Reports, verbal reports at shift change and/or phone communication if determined necessary.16. Responds to all participant and facility emergencies pursuant to established Emergency protocols.17.Communicate effectively with other social service agencies to assist with referrals and providing information to the participants regarding other available services located within the community.18. Administers the Shelter Policies and Procedures19. Assists with input of participant information on various systems/computers and other filing20. Assists with coordinating appointments for guests21. Participates in departmental and assigned association meetings, trainings, and special events
