A Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other documentation. They play a key role in helping companies bid competitively and ensure projects remain within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to determine scope of work
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Solicit and review bids from vendors and subcontractors
• Conduct quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
• Identify potential risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients during pre-construction phases
• Maintain and update cost databases and historical data
• Prepare and present bid proposals and supporting documentation
• Monitor project costs and assist with budget tracking during construction
