Are you looking for a seasonal position that allows you to make a positive impact in your community?
The City of Westerville Public Service Department is accepting applications for Seasonal Maintenance Worker for the Public Service Department. This is a seasonal position that would work May through August, 2026. An additional opportunity may be available to work through December, 2026 with the transition to fall leaf collection.
This position performs seasonal maintenance on City streets and infrastructure; does related work as required. Successful candidates will work as part of our Street, Utility and Environmental crews.

The work schedule for this position is expected to be 7:00am - 3:30pm M-F, with overtime available as needed.

SUPERVISION
Work is performed under the direction of the Public Service Maintenance Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF WORK
(May not include all duties performed.)

• Attends all assigned meetings and informs supervisors of suggestions and comments that could better the Service Department operation.
• Carries out any assigned responsibilities relating to the City of Westerville Service Department as directed by supervisors.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and reports problems to supervisor.
• This position is required to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF WORK

• Valid Ohio Driver's License.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

RETIREMENT PENSION
The City contributes 14% monthly toward retirement benefits offered through the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System. The employee pension payment share is 10% of gross salary.

Personal Leave
Eligible for 24 hours of personal leave if more than 500 hours worked in previous calendar year.

Eligible for 40 hours of personal leave if more than 1000 worked in previous calendar year.
