Responsibilities

• Foster trust and respect among associates.
• Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers by addressing their questions about products.
• Develop and maintain knowledge about the products we offer to assist customers effectively.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of current specials.
• Inspect product quality for freshness and take necessary actions on sell by dates.
• Label, stock, and manage inventory of department merchandise to ensure product availability.
• Report any discrepancies in product ordering and shipping to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive and helpful attitude at all times.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming seasonal promotions and special events.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ensure proper temperatures in storage cases and coolers, maintaining accurate temperature logs.
• Support safety programs by following procedures and reporting unsafe conditions to management.
• Conduct preventive maintenance checks on equipment and notify the relevant manager of needed repairs.
• Report any customer or employee accidents to management.
• Address all safety risks and report illegal activities such as theft or fraud.
• Be capable of performing essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Ability to manage stressful situations effectively.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Strong communication skills.

Desired

• Previous retail experience.
• Ability to speak, read, and/or write in a second language.
