The Westerville Parks Maintenance Division is seeking applicants to fill our summer seasonal positions!This position performs seasonal park maintenance duties including equipment operation tasks; related work as required, and some work may be done unsupervised.This position will have multiple shifts available including weekends and/or 2nd shift possibilities with the ability to adjust schedule when watering is not required.Work is performed under the general direction of the Parks Manager.(May not include all duties performed.)* Performs landscaping maintenance including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, cleaning, clearing, planting,watering, sweeping and painting.* Attends all assigned meetings and informs supervisors of suggestions and comments that could better the parks and recreation operation.* Carries out any assigned responsibilities relating to the City of Westerville Parks and Recreation Department as directed by supervisors.* Cleans and maintains equipment and reports problems to supervisor.* Required to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions.* Waters annual fl owers when conditionsrequire.* Performs other related duties as assigned.* Valid Ohio Driver's License.* Ability to lift 50 lbs.* Ability to develop a working knowledge of the current methods, materials, practices and tools used in the exterior maintenance of parks and recreation facilities.* Ability to learn applicable safety practices.* Ability to exercise good judgment and function within broad guidelines.* Ability to present ideas and recommendations in a clear, concise manner.* Ability to work effectively with other City personnel and the public.* Ability to operate department spray truck for watering.
