Dock Supervisor

Coordinate the receiving and shipping of donated items from the Goodwill warehouse.

Essential Job Functions

1. Supervise warehouse associates and dock workers.
2. Plan work schedules to meet the logistical needs of retail.
3. Participate in moving and organizing warehouse items.
4. Help load and unload donated merchandise from trucks at warehouse.
5. Operate forklift to move pallets and/or heavy inventory.
6. Prepare salvage materials for pick-up.
7. Provide guidance and training to staff and keep manager informed of employees' performance.
8. Communicate transportation routes and dispatch truck drivers.
9. Perform warehouse opening and closing duties as assigned.

Ancillary Job Functions

1. Operate bale machine to prepare salvage items for pick up.
2. Operate trash compactor.
3. Responsible for all warehouse and transportation operations in the absence of next level manager.
4. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.

• One year of experience in warehousing or related field.
• One year of direct supervisory experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a forklift and bale machine.
• Clear verbal communication skills and ability to give and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions.
• Ability to use good judgment and think quickly and rationally.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment

• Exposed to loud noise levels.
• Subjected to varying, inclement outdoor weather conditions.
• Will work near moving mechanical parts and potentially dangerous physical situations.

Physical Abilities

• Must be able to sit, stand, grasp, push, reach, and bend.
• Must be able to perform repetitive writs, hand and/or finger movement.
• Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
