About the Role...

The Global Procurement Expert is instrumental in developing and implementing comprehensive global sourcing strategies for essential materials, parts, and services. This role centers on executing key initiatives within the larger supply chain strategy, aimed at optimizing costs, nurturing strategic supplier relationships, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.

Your Responsibilities...

  • Lead purchasing and sourcing projects, including competitive bidding (RFQs), in-depth cost analytics, direct involvement in negotiations, and precise contract execution.
  • Drive cost optimization, ensure quality assurance, and meet delivery timelines for assigned categories within specific programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Development) to understand requirements deeply and create innovative sourcing solutions.
  • Conduct thorough supplier evaluations, encourage innovation within the supply base, and develop advanced cost modeling tools.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships, enhance performance, cultivate long-lasting partnerships, and resolve complex challenges to guarantee value and continuity.
  • Monitor market trends, technology advancements, and geopolitical factors to identify opportunities for substantial savings, product enhancements, and supply chain innovation.
  • Assist in crafting and negotiating creative commercial agreements that align with Ford's evolving objectives and stimulate innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sourcing standards while promoting best practices in sustainable procurement.
  • Support the strategic onboarding of new suppliers and facilitate their integration into Ford's value chain.
  • Implement proactive measures for supply chain risk reduction, enhance resilience, and ensure compliance with global trade and tariff regulations.
  • Promote transparency and actively engage in optimizing and transforming the entire supply chain value stream.

Key Technical Expertise...

  • Exteriors - Fasteners and related components.
  • Underbody - Suspension, brakes, transmission/driveline systems, etc.
  • IPTS - Engine components such as ignition and valvetrain, pumps, exhaust systems, and radiators.
  • Interiors - Driver interface area and dashboard elements.
  • Digital Technology - Low voltage and high voltage electronics, software, etc.
  • Potential future needs may arise in emerging technology areas like autonomous driving, connected services, and evolving business requirements.

Qualifications...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or commodity management with a strong focus on negotiations and enhancements.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and dynamics of diverse categories/commodities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills with a proven ability to identify and implement innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications...

  • Proficiency in advanced analytics tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and procurement/negotiation software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence change.

This position is graded between salary grades 6-8.
