Job Summary

The Tire Technician is responsible for assisting members in selecting and purchasing tires, expertly installing and repairing tires, and ensuring proper documentation and adherence to tire bay policies and procedures.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Perform proper tire installation including mounting, dismounting, rotating, and balancing.
  • Dispose of tires responsibly and ensure propane tanks are filled as per club policy.
  • Maintain a clean and professional tire bay and waiting area. Merchandise tire displays and other automotive products.
  • Provide knowledgeable service to members at the tire desk and coordinate with Home Office regarding tire needs.
  • Keep an accurate, complete supply inventory and understand special order tire programs.
  • Comply with safety standards and properly use tire bay equipment.
  • Assist members with tire selection and purchases, verifying vehicle size needs.
  • Fill propane tanks if certified per DOT requirements.
  • Ensure all scheduling data and documentation for sales and service orders are accurately completed.
  • Adhere to all club policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include working in other departments as needed.
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid driver's license required with the ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Basic computer skills or willingness to learn are required.
  • Prior tire installation experience is a plus.
  • Must complete Michelin training levels one through four within three months of hiring.
  • Ability to lift over 30 pounds with assistance is required.

Environmental Job Conditions

  • Exposure to both indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Most of the time is spent standing and moving about continuously on hard surfaces. Frequent need to bend, climb, crawl, kneel, push, pull, reach, move side to side, stoop, and use ladders/step stools.
  • Regularly requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds and may involve lifting heavier items with assistance.
  • Job performed amid moving cars, machinery, and loud equipment; may require shouting to be heard. Occasional exposure to company-approved chemicals, cleaning agents, and strong odors.

In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the starting compensation range for this position is $17.50, with actual salaries varying based on factors such as location, education, experience, and qualifications.
