TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

HOURS: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay: $23.68-$29.85/hr

SUGGESTED

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience performing routine maintenance and repairs in school facilities or similar environments
  2. High school diploma or equivalent (relevant maintenance experience, training, or education may be considered in place of a diploma)
  3. Self-motivated with the ability to address a variety of maintenance issues both inside and outside of buildings
  4. Demonstrates strong ethical standards and takes responsibility for decisions and conduct
  5. Effective time management and problem-solving skills
  6. Clear criminal background check appropriate for public school employment
  7. Ability to use relevant technology, equipment, and systems as required


REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Hourly rate to be determined. Work to be based upon 260 days per year as determined by placement on the Board adopted salary schedule.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Director of Operations

PERFORMANCE CRITERIA:

1. ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1.01 Perform routine maintenance and repairs related to:

Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Doors, Locks, Windows, Ceilings, Flooring, Walls, Furniture, Water Systems, Lighting Systems, Outlets, and Switches

1.02 Perform minor plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, valves, and drains

1.03 Complete scheduled HVAC filter changes and assist with small HVAC repairs as needed

1.04 Regularly monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure systems are operating properly

and buildings remain in normal working order

1.05 Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment failure and facility downtime

1.06 Respond to maintenance work orders and prioritize tasks based on urgency and safety

1.07 Assist with event setup and teardown for school functions, activities, and building rentals

1.08 Assist with seasonal maintenance (snow removal support, HVAC changeovers, weather-related

issues)

1.09 Coordinate with custodial staff, administrators, and outside contractors as needed

1.10 Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced

1.11 Ensure compliance with district policies, safety standards, and applicable codes

1.12 Participate in on-call rotation or emergency response as required

1.13 Assist with minor construction, renovations, and facility improvements as directed

1.14 Maintain inventory of supplies, materials, tools, and equipment; place orders as needed to ensure

smooth and efficient maintenance operations

1.15 Daily upkeep and perform preventative maintenance (PM) on cleaning and custodial equipment

1.16 Perform yearly checks and preventative maintenance (PM) on building roofs, drains & gutters

setting

4.02 Experience with commercial HVAC systems and school Building Automation Systems (BAS)

4.03 Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems

4.04 Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and district vehicles

4.05 Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills (oral, written, and technology)

4.06 Ability to follow instructions, document work, and report maintenance issues clearly

4.07 Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes

4.08 Ability to work independently and as part of a team
