Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for planning the site's outbound transportation schedule and coordinating with the National Office, Production Planning, and Customer Care teams. The role also manages carrier-related issues to ensure the delivery of quality pet food that meets or exceeds all Mars Petcare quality specifications, in the quantities and timelines required by business needs.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
Must submit an OAP form
Understanding of good warehousing practices and knowledge of GMP's
Basic knowledge of DOT regulations.
Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to use web based reporting.
Understanding of the end-to-end supply chain
Working knowledge of JDA
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical degree or certifications
Previous experience in an outbound logistics role
Working knowledge of SAP
Physical Requirements:
Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Serve as the primary contact and collaborate with customers, customer care, suppliers, carriers, and other Mars sites
Manage replenishment orders for the warehouse.
Participate in daily logistics meetings to address operational needs.
Proactively address food safety and quality concerns.
Communicate trailer delivery schedules and resolve vendor or site-related issues.
Provide carrier feedback, conduct evaluations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Facilitate claims investigations in coordination with the logistics team.
Monitor past due inbound and outbound loads daily.
Participate in period-end cut-off exception processes.
Troubleshoot and track shipping errors.
Develop One Point Lessons and other training materials.
