Life Safety Specialist
Position Purpose:
What You Will Do:
Building/occupant safety is also part of the position as it relates to the physical environment and taking immediate action when required to eliminate or reduce safety risks.
Serve as a liaison to local fire departments, onsite fire vendors, property management (if applicable) while working in a timely fashion to address any concerns prioritizing response.
Actively serve on designated committee related to Physical Environment- Environment of Care and Emergency Preparedness.
Participate in regulatory rounding and performance improvement initiatives.
Assist in EHS safety training and activities including but not limited to fire safety, emergency preparation and physical environment safety.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree or job or related trade school preferred
License/Certification: State of Ohio (Fire, Sprinkler, Portable Fire Extinguisher) License Required
Valid driver's license required
Appropriate auto insurance required
ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 90 days of hire required
NICET Level 1 certification in Fire Protection Engineering, Inspecting and Testing of Water Based Fire Suppression. Systems or Fire Alarm Systems - preferred
NICET Level 2 certification in Fire Protection Engineering, Inspecting and Testing of Water Based Fire Suppression Systems or Fire Alarm Systems - preferred
Certifications in NFPA 99 and/or 101, OSHA (30 or 501) - preferred
Certification CLSS-HC, CHSP, CHFSP - preferred
Experience: Two years minimum of related experience
