Assistant Purchasing Specialist

Description:

As an Assistant Purchasing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our buying team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Creating and preparing purchase orders with a focus on accuracy and completeness, while troubleshooting any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  2. Maintaining and tracking orders through open to buy files to ensure precise inventory management.
  3. Collecting, researching, and compiling information to prepare various presentations, reports, and queries, distributing them as needed.
  4. Coordinating and efficiently executing the end-to-end sample process for assigned categories.
  5. Providing essential administrative support for the division, including scheduling appointments and managing calendars for meetings, lunches, special events, and conference calls.
  6. Reviewing and ensuring accuracy in pre-ticketing, signage, and marketing materials.
  7. Assisting in merchandise and assortment planning along with merchandise presentation development.
  8. Coordinating attribute sheets and SKU setup, in addition to maintaining data integrity.
  9. Creating electronic package requests and aiding in the packaging development process.
  10. Understanding and supporting the financial metrics for assigned categories, including participation in vendor meetings and negotiations.
  11. Executing other duties as assigned by the management team to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • One to three years of retail experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency with systems and a quick learning aptitude for new technology.
  • A self-starter who can work effectively under general supervision.
