POSITION SUMMARY
The Specialist is a key member of the 1-800 Flowers Inventory Control and Accuracy team. This position must
handle multiple assignments in a rapidly changing, fast paced environment with frequent direct interaction with
senior management. The Specialist position is responsible for closely monitoring inventory systems and working
with business partners to resolve inventory concerns. Working closely with the Supervisor, other leadership and
staff, this position is responsible for Inventory Control activities including inventory system and ERP research and
analysis, cycle counting of materials, storage bin audits and corrective action for material count discrepancies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

be assigned at the discretion of executive management.
• 2+ years inventory control experience in Manufacturing, Wholesale, Distribution and Warehouse, or Retail industry
experience is required. Working in a food environment preferred.
• Experience with Oracle or equivalent Warehouse Management Systems required.
• Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft applications required.
• 1-2 years' forklift and or reach lift experience required.
• Monitor WMS inventory screens to research and resolve inventory discrepancies including Cycle counting, bin audits,
line side storage audits.
• Monitor ERP inventory screens to research and resolve system variances and systems transaction errors.
• Respond to business partner requests for assistance by physically checking on-hand inventory and compare to
system.
• Research discrepant inventory and physically search for lost/misplaced inventory.
• Perform needed inventory adjustments as determined by cycle count activities and/or requests from business
partners.
• Assign and monitor work distributed to cycle counters.
• Provide feedback to cycle counters on daily performance and quality of counts performed.
• Approve/Reject inventory counts as dictated by company thresholds.
• Monitor and manage timelines in cycle counters work and communicate significant gaps to their supervisor.
• Use RF device to perform inventory audits and cycle counts as needed.
• Document inventory control corrective actions taken and communicate the results with business partners.
• Communicate issues affecting inventory with team and business partners.
• Identify system and physical discrepancies with inventory and provide guidance on appropriate corrections.
• Help identify inventory control gaps and provide recommendations to on-site business partners for improvements.
• Provide support as needed with cycle counting audits, bin audits, line side storage audits.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and communicate those with leadership.
• Comply with and support the health, safety, and environmental programs, policies and procedures.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment and be available after hours if required.
• Must be able to work in all storage environments including cold and freezer temperatures.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk distances 200 yards or more.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• This is a safety sensitive position, subject to initial and follow-drug screen testing.

PHYSICAL DEMAND & WORK EFFORT
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Performing General Physical Activities - Performing physical activities that require considerable use of
your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and
handling of materials.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in all storage environments including cold and freezer temperatures.
• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in inventory control or related roles
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Physically capable of performing inventory audits and working in a warehouse environment
  • Forklift and reach lift experience preferred
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a reliable team player
