The Pickerington Local School District (PLSD) is seeking interested applicants for a Head Custodian position at Tussing Elementary.

This is a 12 month position working 1st shift hours (6:30am - 3:30pm).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Previous custodial work experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain care of buildings, grounds and equipment
  • Experience with operating heating and ventilating equipment
  • Ability to read basic operating instructions
  • Ability to communicate and work well with others
  • Knowledge and/or ability to learn technical building systems
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry 80 pounds
  • Ability to perform manual labor for long periods of time
  • Demonstrates aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
  • Ability to assist principal/supervisor in creating a safe, clean, positive and comfortable environment
  • Ability to lead and give instruction to custodians on all working shifts
  • Ability to follow directions and a strong desire to succeed
  • Must be friendly, dependable and exhibit a strong work ethic
  • Ability to maintain and respect confidential information and situations
  • Ability to work well with students, staff and parents of diverse population
