Summary/Objective

Under moderate supervision, this position performs work related to general grounds maintenance and upkeep of our residential facilities.

Essential Functions/Primary Job Responsibilities

• Performs grounds maintenance in the areas of mowing, mulching, weed removal, edging, hedge trimming, power washing, trash removal, seeding/planting, and all duties related to lawn/landscaping. Also, will be required to perform duties of general building maintenance as needed
• Must be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in all areas of grounds maintenance
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within all areas of grounds maintenance
• Will regularly travel around to the different FCRS facilities to maintain all grounds

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices used in grounds maintenance
• Understanding of occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skilled in operation of power and manual tools, along with light and heavy equipment

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work extended hours out of doors in varying weather conditions
• Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Effectively handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 60 pounds
• Operate various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Requires 2-3 years of proven experience in the maintenance field or in a related area
• Working knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and practices used in maintenance & occupational hazards and safety precautions
• Skill in operation of power and manual tools & operation of light and heavy equipment
• Must be able to lift, bend, push, pull up to 60 pounds
• Valid Driver's License and Insurable Driving Record

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
