The Actuarial Analyst - Pricing Specialist will play a key role in implementing rates, new plans, and benefit changes. This position involves collaborating with Product Development to assess the cost impacts of new products andbenefits. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining pricing tools that cater to both standard and custom benefits. This role includes varied work assignments that often necessitate interpretation and independent judgment regarding the best courses of action.

In this role, you will establish market-level financial metrics to align with our segment profitability goals, analyze market results and projections, and recommend pricing actions to close any gaps in our targeted metrics. You will leverage market projections and experience data tools to research underlying causes and gain insights. Understanding competitors in the marketplace is essential as you will work closely with sales and other partners to develop strategies that foster profitable membership growth. You will also be accountable for actuarial certifications on rate filings, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations regarding rates and benefits.

The ideal candidate understands the strategic and operational objectives of the department, segment, and organization, including how they interconnect with related areas. You will make decisions regarding your work methods, sometimes in ambiguous situations, with minimal direction, while receiving guidance when necessary and adhering to established guidelines and procedures.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Successful completion of at least 3 actuarial exams

  • Strong communication skills

  • A passion for enhancing consumer experiences in a dedicated organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SQL or VBA

  • Previous experience with Medicare

Travel: This is a remote position, but some travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be necessary.

Compensation:

The salary range indicated reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary based on geographic location, individual skills, experience, education, and certifications. The pay range is $80,900 - $110,300 per year and includes eligibility for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
