How you'll contribute
The Housekeeper is responsible to maintain a clean, sanitary, and pleasing environment for patients, staff and guests. Duties include dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, sanitizing and removing trash. Assures that toiletry and linen needs are replenished at all times. Inventories and orders cleaning supplies and equipment. Ensures, in conjunction with the plant operations department, a safe and risk-free environment within OSHA regulations and hospital standards.

Qualifications and requirements
  • Education: High school diploma, GED or combination of education and relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience: Pervious housekeeping in a hospital setting preferred.
  • License: Valid driver's license preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks of patient rooms, offices, and public areas while ensuring a safe and risk preventative environment within OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure that adequate linens are kept in the hospital.
  • Report any situations that may affect health and well-being of patients or employees.
  • Assure that supply closets are kept clean and orderly.
  • Responsible for disposal of trash, waste, and other disposable materials in accordance with OSHA.
  • Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor.
  • Submit any patient personal belongings left behind to nursing supervisor.
  • Follows P&Ps for terminal cleaning of a room.
  • Follows instructions in use of germicidal solutions when cleaning.
  • Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services.
