Position Title: Creative Crafter Hospice Volunteer

Location: Serving Communities Through Central Ohio

Position Summary:

Hospice care provides holistic support to those in need that goes beyond the medical model alone. Patients and their loved ones often find comfort in the small moments of joy, like being gifted a blanket or a homemade card as a "thinking of you" gesture. We are seeking crafters and creative individuals to offer their talents as a gift to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a finished product of a craft or arts-based project to a patient or their family
  • Help a patient to finish a craft project they started, but have not yet finished
  • Offer comfort and empathy to those going through a difficult time

Requirements:

  • Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Talent in crafting or creativity (i.e., knitting hats, crocheting scarves, sharing music, visual arts, card making, crocheting contracture carrots, making flower arrangements, etc.)
  • Completing hospice volunteer orientation and onboarding procedures
