The Cadet Candidate Training Program consists of a training guide, physical fitness tests, monthly evaluations, and successful completion of the Field Training Dispatcher Guide.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent; Must be a U.S. citizen; Must be a minimum of 18 years of age; Must have valid driver's license with no more than five active points; Must enter an academy class before reaching their 40th birthday.
Supplemental Information:
Achieving and maintaining physical fitness is a top priority in the Cadet Candidate Program. The Cadet Candidate will be required to complete the physical fitness assessment at least once a month and more frequently if needed in the following areas: time for 1.5 mile endurance run, total push-ups in one (1) minute, and total sit-ups in one (1) minute.
Cadet Candidates are required to meet the 20th percentile of the Cooper Institute Standards prior to acceptance into the program. However, the Cadet Candidate must meet or exceed the 30th percentile of the Cooper Institute Standards within the first two months of employment and maintain that standard for the duration of their employment as a Cadet Candidate.
