2nd Shift Production Supervisor $26/hr

Qualifications

Previous leadership or supervisory history for a minimum of 2 years

Must be mechanically inclined

Must be able to pass physical and fit testing for respiratory protection if required

Must be capable of standing or sitting for long durations

Must have excellent time management skills

Ability to speak, read, write, and understand basic English

Advanced analytical and decision-making skills

Ability to work well with others

Ability to present ideas and documents in a group format

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

Manufacturing or Production experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Department(s)

The Supervisor maintains a safe practice work environment while completing set goals in an efficient manner and handles any situation in an autonomous manner while keeping excellent communication with subordinates and Management

Responsible for the day-to-day operations, including assigning work to employees

Generating daily reports which may include output achieved, regulatory compliance reporting or shift summary

Ensure staffing is maintained at an adequate level to meet production needs

Interview potential employees and give recommendations on hiring

Partner with Team Leads and HR to validate that all new employees are properly trained and mentored by team leaders through use of audits, inspections, or other methods

Maintain employee time, attendance, and vacation/sick time on a timely basis through ADP system

Enforces use of mandatory PPE

Performs walk-throughs of production area to ensure productivity levels being achieved through proper set up

Enforces cleanliness in the work area to developed standards through daily/weekly audits

Ability to work occasionally with engineering to institute work cell changes and material and motion studies

Assures proper start up and plant shut down procedures

Controls shift to shift communication on daily or ongoing items to assure no gaps

Appraises and/or rewards exceptional employees using the recognition program and direct feedback promptly

Responds immediately to issues and possible disciplinary actions

Possess various tools for conflict resolution between employees

Performs annual reviews of direct employees

Works with production planning/plant management to level load expected plant output

Ability to motivate employees using various positive reinforcement tools

Creates and communicates Incident Reports and relays any safety concerns

Able to respond to emergency situations safely and calmly

Hold direct employees accountable to performing to established work standards

Effectively directs material movement within the manufacturing dept

Develop strategies to bring sub-performing employees to meet at least minimum standards

Verify daily inventory through proper material handling techniques/procedures utilizing ERP System

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
