Position Summary: The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This role is hands-on, requiring active participation in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment used for PCBA assembly and electronic product manufacturing. The ideal candidate combines leadership ability with technical expertise to ensure maximum equipment uptime, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, develop and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and quality standards
Hands-On Equipment Maintenance - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on SMT lines, wave solder machines, conformal coating systems, and other electronic assembly equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize downtime
Hands-On Facilities Maintenance - Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant facilities, internal and external
- Support activities related to weather conditions at the facility
Process & Compliance - Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in the Havis-based CMMS system
- Ensure compliance with ESD, IPC, and safety standards relevant to electronics manufacturing including proper Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Support equipment calibration and validation processes.
Continuous Improvement - Drive maintenance-related metrics within Havis
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and equipment upgrades
Vendor & Inventory Management - Coordinate with suppliers for spare parts and service needs
- Manage maintenance inventory to ensure critical spares are available
Qualifications: - Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related field (bachelor's preferred)
- 5+ years in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably electronics or PCBA assembly
- 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems
- Familiarity with SMT equipment, soldering processes, electronic testing equipment, and automated assembly machinery
- Proficient in the use of CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift
- Mechanically inclined with experience using basic hand tools, power tools, electrical diagnostic instruments (multimeter, oscilloscope, clamp meter, insulation tester), mechanical service tools (lubrication, calibration gauges, compressed air), and software/connection gear (laptop with service software, interface cables).
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions and engineering drawings
Additional Requirements: - Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts and/or hours
- Must possess a valid driver's license and pass license check by the insurer
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Must possess a strong attention to detail
- Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, and bending
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25lbs. and occasionally up to 50lbs.
- Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- General knowledge of workplace safety, a plus
