The hvac lab technician - 2nd shift is an intermediate level position for testing with sufficient experience to handle most assignments. The technician will perform routine testing and make adaptations to units exercising a limited degree of judgment. This position will be on 2nd shift monday-friday (2:30pm-11:00pm). responsibilities include setting up test facility and instrumentation in response to general instructions, supporting and collaborating with engineers in activities to structure and develop system testing capabilities and products, analyzing and improving existing processes & designs as required, planning, setting up, instrumenting, and operating products and test facilities, troubleshooting and correcting issues, assisting in development of solutions or workarounds to resolve defects, working with the engineering and quality assurance (qa) teams to fully understand the low-level functions within application software or products, as applicable, assisting the qa team in understanding/developing low-level functional and system integration tests, conducting tests, analyzing data and making modifications to units being tested within limits of intermediate nature, requiring timely completion of assigned tasks, participating in 5s improvement programs, and other duties as assigned. requirements include a two-year associate's degree + 1 year or at least 4 years' hvac directly related experience, epa universal refrigerant handling license, brazing, piping, basic wiring skills, 208/230/460v 3-phase 60 hz wiring, instrumentation and low volt wiring, general mechanical skills and ability to read mechanical drawings for prototype builds, good working knowledge and skills in testing related to temperature, pressure, and electrical property measurement, good planning, organizational, documentation, and communication skills, good attendance, ms office experience helpful, and must be team oriented. the successful candidate will embrace vertiv's core principals & behaviors to help execute our strategic priorities. our core principals include safety, integrity, respect, teamwork, diversity & inclusion. our strategic priorities include customer focus, operational excellence, high-performance culture, innovation, and financial strength. our behaviors include owning it, acting with urgency, fostering a customer-first mindset, thinking big and executing, leading by example, driving continuous improvement, and learning and seeking out development.
