Description:

Valley Ford of Columbus is looking for a Used/Reconditioning Car Technician. The Used/Reconditioning Car Technician will focus on servicing and reconditioning used vehicle inventory for the sales department. This role requires a strong understanding of diagnostics, safety standards, and repair procedures for a variety of makes and models. Used Car/Reconditioning Responsibilities
  • Inspect used vehicles thoroughly for mechanical, safety, and cosmetic issues
  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of systems including brakes, suspension, steering, batteries, electrical, and HVAC
  • Perform fluid flushes, belt/filter replacements, tire work, and routine maintenance
  • Communicate clearly with the sales and service teams regarding vehicle condition and needed repairs
  • Apply undercoating treatments to vehicles as part of the reconditioning process
  • Ensure vehicles are fully reconditioned and ready for retail sale
  • Document all repairs and findings in the dealership system
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, safety, and organization
Used Car/Reconditioning Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of technician experience in a service or dealership environment
  • Strong diagnostic skills and mechanical knowledge across multiple vehicle makes
  • Ford experience and/or certification is a plus
  • Automotive certifications preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair software
  • Basic computer literacy and documentation skills
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
