JOB SUMMARY

Operate computer aided design (CAD) system and peripheral equipment to develop drawings. Draw/coordinate on a large variety of new and existing construction projects based on information derived from MEP construction drawings. Typically drawing/coordination includes 3D modeling of all electrical systems and development of design drawings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have two years at an accredited college or university toward a B.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or 5 years minimum field experience.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Good organizational and planning skills are essential
  • Strong computer competence including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, BIM, and AutoCAD required

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to read, analyze, understand, and interpret design and construction documents
  • Understanding of electrical systems
  • Utilize BIM to increase the team's understanding of problems and solutions and assist the construction and field team in solving issues throughout the project
  • BIM coordination and preparation of filed drawings and reports
  • Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques
  • Maintain project files
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
