Position Overview

As we continue to scale, we are seeking a proactive and highly organized HR & Operations Lead to own the core people operations and office operations that keep our business running smoothly.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small-company environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and is confident in owning HR processes while supporting day-to-day operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

The HR & Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day human resources functions while managing the operational needs of the office. This includes:

Human Resources Leadership

  • Own full-cycle recruiting: sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offers, background checks, and onboarding.
  • Partner with hiring managers to forecast staffing needs and improve hiring workflows.
  • Ensure an excellent candidate experience through timely and professional communication.
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance standards in partnership with outside counsel.
  • Represent the organization at recruitment fairs and build relationships within the community to attract talent.
  • Administer employee benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability, 401(k)).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions related to HR, benefits, and policies.
  • Process payroll and answer payroll-related questions.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records, personnel files, and compliance documents.
  • Track all employment documentation.
  • Guide managers and participate in employee relations conversations, documentation, investigations, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist leaders with performance cycles, feedback processes, and basic goal-setting structures.

Office Operations & Administrative Coordination

  • Oversee day-to-day office operations including supplies, equipment, workspace organization, and general upkeep.
  • Act as the main point of contact for building management, facilities vendors, and service providers.
  • Coordinate and support office projects such as workspace improvements, furniture replacement, and vendor setup.
  • Order office supplies, track inventory, and manage deliveries and office shipments.
  • Coordinate office events, employee gatherings, and team activities.
  • Support and coordinate insurance claims related to the office, property damage, or equipment issues.
  • Maintain documentation related to vendor contracts, warranties, and service agreements.

Project & Process Support

  • Assist with planning and coordinating operational projects such as office renovations or layout changes.
  • Track timelines, communicate updates, and follow up with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Review HR and operations workflows regularly and recommend improvements for efficiency and consistency.
  • Maintain awareness of HR and operations best practices, emerging trends, and compliance guidance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in HR generalist, people operations, or administrative operations roles.
  • Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and HR compliance required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, small-team environment.

Work Conditions

  • 40-hour onsite work week required. (Hybrid up to two days a week after 90 days)
  • Occasional travel between office locations.
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer work.
  • Occasional lifting of moderately heavy items such as equipment or office supplies.

Physical Demands

This role involves regular communication, occasional lifting (up to 50 pounds), and the ability to move throughout client sites. We value accessibility and will provide reasonable accommodations to support all team members.
