Compensation: Up to $25.00/hr

Job Summary:

As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in our processing facilities, ensuring USDA regulatory compliance and the consistent production of safe, high-quality products. You will perform both operational and downtime sanitation duties that directly support the functionality of our equipment and achievement of daily production goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Perform daily and scheduled downtime sanitation of equipment and work areas.
  • Dismantle, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Monitor and mix cleaning chemicals to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Use approved sanitizers and disinfectants safely and effectively.
  • Operate high-pressure hoses and cleaning tools to wash down surfaces.
  • Remove and dispose of waste properly in designated dump areas.
  • Adhere strictly to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety standards, and sanitation protocols (SSOPs).
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
  • Communicate sanitation or equipment issues immediately to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support a team-focused work environment and uphold company values.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Familiarity with sanitation procedures in food processing or manufacturing settings.
  • Understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations (preferred).
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good physical stamina with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs intermittently.
  • Willingness to work in fast-paced, wet, and sometimes cold or hot environments.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment and procedures (e.g., LOTO, harnesses, PPE) is a plus.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to regularly attend and work scheduled shifts
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Strong work ethic and adherence to safety and ethical standards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in plant sanitation, quality, or food safety
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Prior knowledge of HACCP or SSOPs
  • Familiarity with sanitation chemicals and handling procedures

Work Environment:

This position requires working in a fast-paced food production facility with exposure to wet, humid, and potentially cold or hot conditions. Use of PPE is mandatory. Employees may be required to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, and handle heavy cleaning equipment.
