Credit Analyst

The Credit Analyst position provides "Simply the Best" customer service at all times--analyzing financial reports, business plans, and financial projections, and performing sensitivity, cash flow, collateral and industry analyses. We are looking for a self-starter who wants to grow with us. This is a career development position within a vigorous business development environment. In this position you will work directly with relationship managers/sales executives, portfolio managers and credit officers to generate commercial loan approval documents while also helping to protect the quality of the bank's loan portfolio.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing financial reports, business plans and financial projections.
  • Preparing sensitivity, collateral and cash flow analyses.
  • Compiling competitor, vendor and industry information.
  • Preparing written evaluations of borrowers' financial condition and future outlook.
  • Assisting relationship managers and portfolio managers in the administration of existing relationships and in the acquisition of new relationships.
  • Assisting portfolio managers with portfolio monitoring and ongoing credit reviews of commercial clients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 0-1 year work experience in a financial institution or industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel strongly preferred
  • PC and internet proficiency strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Business Administration strongly preferred
  • Three accounting courses strongly preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a high volume industry working directly with credit, loan quality or financial analysis preferred
  • Demonstrated confidence, assertiveness, professionalism and ability to interact with colleagues of all levels
  • Desire to sell Huntington and its services
  • Ability to analyze financial data and narrative information quickly and thoroughly
  • Excellent and concise written and verbal communication skills including professional grammar and demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, plan and provide consistent follow-up
  • Proven ability to pay attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High motivation and focus
  • Strong orientation toward goals
