At Erdey Searcy Eye Group, we have a fantastic job opportunity for a Surgical Coordinator . Responsible will include scheduling ophthalmic surgeries and providing a concierge level of service to patients.

This is a Monday - Friday dayshift position with No Weekends and No Holidays!

• Counseling patients on all outpatient surgical instructions.
• Scheduling surgeries in the office, over the phone, or at satellite locations.
• Obtaining signatures from patients on Informed Consent and Post-Operative Release forms.
• Verifying insurance benefits for surgery patients and determining if their insurance company requires pre-certification.
• Setting up post-operative appointments with referring doctors' offices or surgeons.
• Scheduling surgeries with the facility.
• Preparing surgery chart for each surgeon, including pre-certifying surgery; obtaining the post-op report from the referring doctor; typing the discharge letter and sending it to referring doctors; reviewing with the patient the surgical instructions, appointment calendar, and eye drops schedule for the patient's pre/post-operative care.
• Entering surgery appointments and post-op appointments in the scheduling system
• Communicating and providing the billing team with all necessary documentation for billing procedures

• H.S. Diploma; College degree preferred.
• COA/COT certification or Surgical Training preferred.

Ability to direct the activities of the staff and manage the personnel.
• Knowledge : Working knowledge and experience in a surgery environment, preferably in an operating room, including direct patient care. Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately.
