Great candidates will have experience with cloud-native applications, modern web development, and the considerations and trade-offs needed for high-scale digital collection systems serving cultural institutions worldwide. Full-stack development experience spanning UI, backend, and DevOps is essential. They should also have experience leading teams in developing enterprise software that handles sensitive cultural heritage data with all the legal, security and risk considerations that are applicable. Well-qualified candidates should also deeply understand continuous deployment pipelines built with robust, automated testing and orchestration and understand how to lead and empower engineers to thrive in that style of development. Major Responsibilities: - Oversees the development of features that strengthen OCLC's digital collections strategy in partnership with the product organization - Manages the agile and iterative planning, execution, and completion of deliverables - Ensures solid technical designs and solutions are implemented and SLAs are met for 24/7 platform operations - Serves as technical consultant for senior management, technical staff, product managers, and project stakeholders - Manages technical staff including UI Engineers, Software Engineers, and DevOps Engineers through directing, motivating, training, evaluating, coaching, mentoring, and developing individuals - Performs all administrative duties necessary for ongoing support including staff selection, performance evaluation, progress reporting, and other administrative functions - Designs and implements complex systems for digital library applications with considerations for scalability, data management, and user experience* Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering discipline* Requires 5+ years experience in managing and architecting infrastructure software components* Technical depth to actively participate in architectural conversations and contribute to business/technology tradeoffs* Solid understanding of modern development frameworks covering TypeScript/React 19+, Python 3.11+/Django, PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure, containers, microservices, and RESTful/GraphQL API development* Strong proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), AWS cloud services, and DevOps practices - Experience leading teams in developing enterprise software handling sensitive information with applicable legal, security and risk consideration* Excellent communication skills with ability to present technical architecture to business stakeholders and senior management - Deep understanding of delivering software in large enterprise environments with proven track record of shipping platform services - Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, good judgment and passion for emerging technologies* Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies such as XP, Scrum, and/or DSDM* Experience in operational management of production systemsSend your resume to our Talent Acquisition Team for future opportunities!# **Who we are:**We are a non-profit global technology company that develops innovative services for libraries.
