Application Engineer - Southern Ohio / Indiana

We are seeking an experienced Test and Measurement Application Engineer in the Southern Ohio (Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, etc) or Indianapolis areas. As one of our Application Engineers, you will be a key part of our sales team, demonstrating products and providing dedicated training and application support to key customers in the region. Your tasks

  • Pre/post-sales support, including customer demonstrations, user training, and troubleshooting problems on customer equipment
  • Develop and present local seminars and customer training sessions
  • Provide technical feedback to R&S development teams and product line to drive product enhancements, new features, and future development.
  • Collaborate with a team of Application Engineers and local sales Account Managers to help drive customer engagement and satisfaction
  • Provide technical support for R&S products and applications

Your Qualifications

  • BSEE (or equivalent) with at least 5 years' experience in an application engineering, test engineering, or development engineering role
  • Experience working with test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, vector network analyzers, and oscilloscopes
  • Understanding of key measurements including Noise Figure, Phase Noise measurements, Spectrum measurements, Vector Signal Analysis, S-parameter measurements, and Intermodulation Distortion measurements
  • Understanding of key applications: Radar, Electronic Warfare, Global Navigation Satellite Systems, High Speed Digital Applications including Signal and Power Integrity, Wireless Communications Standards such as 5G, LTE, Wifi, etc.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer interface skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel within the region and occasional international travel
  • Previous experience with R&S and competitor test equipment is a plus
  • Customer facing and sales environment experience is a plus
  • Programming experience (C/C++, Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, LabVIEW, etc), Python especially is a plus
  • Must be US Citizen to be considered for this position

Compensation

The total compensation for this position is $118K-$200K. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level. Individual pay within the range is determined by several factors including location, education or training, relevant work history, sales incentive structure and job‑related skills.
