Ethics, Compliance, and Risk Management (ECRM) supports our people in managing the risks that arise during our daily working lives. We work closely with all parts of the organization to identify, manage and monitor risk, providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy, security issues, as well as dealing with claims and any queries regarding ethics.

As a Data Protection & Privacy Analyst, you will help the Data Protection team make educated, thoughtful decisions on Risk Management. Our brand depends on it. Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate compliance with applicable legal and regulatory and EY policy requirements, including updating and maintaining an inventory of data, processing activities, applications, and suppliers across EY's business activities.
  • Assist in responding to data subject rights (DSR) and internal data access requests.
  • Manage and document activities around data incidents (e.g., loss, theft, or inappropriate disclosure of confidential/personal information).
  • Support metrics analysis and reporting to keep stakeholders informed of key Data Protection trends.
  • Track new and/or revised applicable data protection laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CPRA, VCDPA, HIPAA).
  • Assist with tracking and conducting data protection due diligence reviews of processes, systems/technologies, suppliers, and M&A targets.
  • Review and assist with addressing inquiries from business teams, coordinating appropriate responses based on documented procedures.
  • Support engagement and account risk monitoring and mitigation efforts.
  • Monitor and assess program controls.
  • Maintain and expand current knowledge of the field of expertise, communicating new developments and resulting impact to stakeholders and team members.
  • Develop relationships across teams/functions within the organization.
  • Participate in other ad‑hoc Data Protection & Privacy projects as assigned.

  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; technology savvy.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 1–3+ years related experience.

Preferred

  • Ability to perform initial reviews of submissions from client teams and evaluate completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness of proposed transaction or requests.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with base salary ranges: $40,900–$74,200 for all U.S. locations; $49,100–$84,400 for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento). Salaries within those ranges determined by various factors.
  • Medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Hybrid model: most external, client‑serving roles work together in person 40–60% of the time.
