With the completion of The Marzetti Company's business‑led ERP transformation, The Marzetti Company has graduated to a comprehensive, cloud‑based, state‑of‑the‑art integrated ERP solution. The ERP solution will be maintained and improved through the establishment of a Sustain organization. Each business process area will have a team of partnered information technology (IT) and business team members who collaborate to optimize the company's return on the SAP investment and deliver benefits at scale through enhancements to the processes, data, and integrated technical solution.

The Senior Business Analyst for Human Resources will be the liaison between the business and IT and will be responsible for understanding the needs of the business for HR Systems, inclusive of Applications, Systems, and Processes Integrated with HR systems and processes.

The Senior Business Analyst will learn business processes and related applications, engage in all phases of the application development lifecycle (e.g., requirements gathering, analysis, design, test, implementation, and support), test and train end‑users on new applications, features, or fixes, and provide support to business teams for troubleshooting and solution services. The Senior Business Analyst may serve as an experienced member of a project team, or work on enhancements and fixes to HR Applications, SAP and other current state systems and will report to the Human Resources IT Solution Owner II.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and/or own the planning, design and development of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Meet independently with decision makers, systems owners, and end‑users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
  • Leverage technical expertise to identify opportunities to review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems while remaining fit‑to‑standard and minimizing custom development.
  • Define, design, and document solutions including but not limited to requirements, business flows, integration process flows, and functional design documents.
  • Perform cost‑benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems/solutions to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Assist and/or own the deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Participate in system unit test, integration test, user acceptance testing, and other formal and information test activities to test both happy path and non‑happy path test scenarios.
  • Maintain close collaboration and relationships with the IT Solution Owner, business, Managed Service Provider, and the enterprise IT team.
  • Embrace and comply with solution governance and methodology.
  • Build and manage project plans using project management best practices including estimating, budgeting, risk and issue management, milestone management, and status reporting.
  • Ability to perform duties independently under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6 to 8 years' experience as a Business Analyst or related role.
  • Demonstrated experience with requirement elicitation techniques, as‑is and to‑be analysis and business process modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience with SDLC business validation documentation (i.e. User Requirements Specifications, Functional specifications) including technical documentation such as Design specification, Configuration specifications, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with systems integration methodologies and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process for transaction and analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience managing small projects—including project planning, risk and issue management, estimating and budgeting, and status reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Manufacturing industry experience desired.
  • SAP S4/HANA experience is desired.
  • HRIS system experience preferred.
  • Kronos Work Force (WFC or WFM) experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with HR Integrations and Architecture.
  • Knowledge and experience in at least two HR processes – Payroll, Timekeeping, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Management, Onboarding, Offboarding.
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Reporting.
