Responsibilities and qualifications are listed below for a Mainframe and Java Modernization role. The candidate should have experience in understanding requirements for Mainframe Modernization and Legacy Migration, with a focus on on‑prem to on‑prem, cloud migration to Azure, and migration to Micro Focus.

Responsibilities

• 8 to 10 years of experience in the Mainframe & Java Modernization space.
• Experience understanding requirements for Mainframe Modernization and Legacy Migration.
• Experience with the tech stack: Java FSD, Python, Mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS, MQ), Web services, EXTRIEVE, SORT, etc., and experience with Mainframe Modernization migrations (On-Prem to On-Prem, Cloud Migration to Azure, Migration to Micro Focus).
• Strong in triaging production issues using standard Mainframe tools.
• Java/distributed solutions experience is a plus; strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to work collaboratively across the organization.
• Understanding and experience of Product Development Life Cycle, Business Requirements Specification documentation, and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience in PL/1, JCL, DB2, CICS, Web services, EXTRIEVE, SORT, VSAM; secondary skills include COBOL, changeman tool, SQL designing, coding, unit testing, debugging; strong object‑oriented principles and best practices; ability to work independently.
