Sr Analyst, Data Engineer

Join a high?performing team where youll grow as a junior data engineer while working on the operational and analytical data needs of our P&C Telematics Program.


Job Summary


As a Data Engineer youll acquire, curate, and publish data for analytical and operational use. Youll design scalable pipelines for both batch and streaming workloads, build API integrations, and translate business data stories into technical solutions. Your work will ensure a single version of truth across all data consumers, including business users, data scientists, and technology teams.


Location & Schedule


This hybrid role requires presence in one of our officesColumbus, OH; Des Moines, IA; or Scottsdale, AZtwo days per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays).


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide technical consultation on data product projects, analyzing end?to?end requirements and existing business processes.

  • Translate business data stories into a technical breakdown and work estimate to determine value and fit for a sprint.

  • Apply secure software and system engineering practices to protect data and technology solutions.

  • Develop and maintain scalable pipelines for streaming and batch data.

  • Assist in building new API integrations to support increasing data volume and complexity.

  • Practice code management and integration using engineering Git principles and best practices.


Qualifications & Skills



  • Lifelong learner passionate about technology and data?driven solutions.

  • Able to learn on the fly and fill knowledge gaps, teaching others as needed.

  • Strong problem?solving skills and ability to debug complex, multi?system issues.

  • Experience with streaming data at scale and enhancing data value for models and customers.

  • Desired technical experience: AWS, Spark, Databricks, Unity Catalog, UAC, Splunk, Kafka, Kinesis, SQL, Python, PySpark.

  • Bonus: Rancher, Docker, Harbor, Kubernetes; Scala; Snowflake, Teradata, HBase, DynamoDB.


Education


Undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, business, statistics, mathematics, or related field. Graduate study in a related discipline is a plus.


Experience


13 years of experience with data quality rules, data management standards, query languages, and data wrangling tools. Experience analyzing trends in structured and unstructured data is preferred. Knowledge of insurance/financial services is a plus.

Certifications are not required but encouraged.
