About The Opportunity
The person in this position is responsible for leading and training Forklift Operators to drive industrial trucks equipped with forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials needed in the process of production.
Essential Functions:
1. Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
2. Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
3. Train and lead Forklift Operators to:
* Transport finished jobs or goods into correct areas
* Move pallets of goods for jobs in process to appropriate area as needed
* Place finished goods which are on a designated pallet to the correct location
* Perform all functions accurately as required in our WMS system
* Reduce errors and safety incidents
* Manage LTOs times and direct to specific jobs
4. Notify supervisor of any mechanical or material issues
5. Communicate with managers to ensure coordination of other production lines
6. Maintain a clean and safe work area by moving empty pallets to a designated area
7. Assist supervisors on the production floor to maintain a safe work environment
8. Provide backup to Inventory Manager and/or Inventory Supervisor to include receiving shipments and certifying operators on the lift trucks
9. Maintain a professional demeanor and performance in supervision of staff
10. Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
* Ability to pass certification in order to operate a fork/lift truck
* Stand-up forklift experience required
Previous warehouse production lead experience preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
2. Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
3. Ability to effectively work in teams, and to lead, train, and direct a team
4. Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
5. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
6. Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions
7. Ability to consistently produce at a high level
8. Ability to work with plant management for required results
9. Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job
