Job Title

Focuses on process improvement, organizational change management, project management and other processes relative to the business. Project management includes estimating, scheduling, costing, planning and issue/risk management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, making necessary adjustments as needed
  • Tracks and supports planned vs actual budget including all costs for all projects
  • Supports the maintenance of IT Project accounting in project management tools
  • Works with Program Director on vendor management
  • Proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could impact the success of the program
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective project execution by fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Conduct regular project reviews and retrospectives to identify lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Provide value-added leadership with knowledge of foundational Health Insurance Operations; particularly Utilization Management, Care Management, and Clinical Operations
  • Ability to work occasional late nights, weekends, and holidays in support of essential off-hours technical deployments
  • Deep understanding of effective project approach(es) for a variety of projects, including projects with a high degree of complexity spanning multiple areas
  • Able to organize complexity into successfully manageable work plans, estimate staffing requirements (e.g. resource skills & team assembly)
  • Expert knowledge of methods and techniques involved in project management initiatives
  • Able to develop detailed project plans, communication plans, schedules, role definition, risk management and assumptions
  • Complete mastery of standard applications and project specific software
  • Able to learn new software with little to no instruction within a short timeframe and instruct others on its functionality
  • Proactively assesses projects for potential problem areas
  • Investigate, develop, and evaluate solutions to a wide range of complex problems spanning across multiple projects. Processes, procedures, and tools to increase efficiency

Job Qualifications:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Required Experience: 4-7 years of relevant work experience in business, engineering or a related field in lieu of degree acceptable.
  • Preferred Education: Additional business, technical, and/or project management training/certification.
  • Preferred Experience: Understanding of Agile and Waterfall Project Management & Execution methodologies
  • Understanding of the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle)
  • Understanding the difference between a Project Manager and a Scrum Master
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Knowledge of the Project Management triple constraint
  • Knowledge of the core components of a Project Management Plan
  • Knowledge of foundational Health Insurance operations
  • Knowledge of Health Insurance Utilization Management, Care Management, and Clinical Operations
  • Ability to work occasional late nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred License, Certification, Association:

  • PMP, CSM, and/or Six Sigma Green Belt
