As a Substation Designer, you will be part of the substation department, developing construction drawings for substations with guidance from experienced designers and engineers. Responsibilities include creating 3-D models of electrical substation features and components, designing layouts of parts and assemblies in both 2-D and 3-D drawings, and modifying and updating existing models, assemblies, and layouts to incorporate design changes. You will also work with part naming and numbering conventions, manage file naming and protocols, and create or modify physical drawings including single line diagrams, station location plans, electrical assemblies, cable and conduit plans, cable schedules, grounding plans, duct bank designs, and other essential details for substation construction. Utilize ProjectWise for project documentation to track design modifications and new designs with guidance from senior designers. Collaborate closely under the supervision of higher-level designers and engineers.
Essential Skills include proficiency in substation design and physical layout planning, experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and CAD drafting, and five to eight years of experience designing physical layouts, equipment layouts, plan views, and detailed bills of material. Additional Skills & Qualifications include an associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer-aided design (CAD) or in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering technology. Equivalent experience and/or education in relevant fields is also required.

This is a contract position based out of New Albany, Ohio. The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
