Job Overview

This position supports the states of MA, NJ, and NY for the NERO Region of Personal Lines Product. You will position products for profitable growth within states that are smaller or less complex.

Job Description Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture information from multiple internal and external sources, including competitor filings, and analyze data.
  • Analyze product performance and proactively find opportunities at state, line of business and agency level.
  • Analyze and review financial results, product profitability, business mix, competitive information, and forecast performance.
  • Plan work and manage timelines to complete project work through others.
  • Determine and recommend product positioning for overall profitability using rate reviews, pricing, risk appetite, placement, and timing.
  • Develop detailed product plan to achieve long‑ and short‑term financial objectives for assigned state(s) and product(s).
  • Consult with leadership and internal partners regarding analysis, ideas and business performance.
  • Communicate product, pricing and organizational decisions to internal and external partners.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with peers and partners; participate in cross‑functional teams.
  • Participate in training classes, meetings and pursue additional education.

Typical Skills And Experiences

Education: Bachelor's degree in insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.

License/Certification: Progress toward or completion of CPCU, AU CIC, INS ARM, Actuarial exams or similar designations preferred.

Experience: Six years of experience in underwriting or product preferred. Cross‑functional experience and data analysis preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Core business functions, commercial lines insurance products, state regulations, underwriting procedures, financials, trend analysis, competitor data, analytical tools, relational databases, data visualization, statistical software, communication, influence, project leadership, problem solving, decision making.
