Deputy Director Of Human Resources

The Ohio Attorney General's Office has played a vital role in shaping Ohio's past and present and the work it does today helps chart the state's future. The office consists of nearly 30 distinct sections that advocate for consumers and victims of crime, assist the criminal justice community, provide legal counsel for state offices and agencies, and enforce certain state laws. In these and other capacities, staff members interact with tens of thousands of Ohioans each year.

The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a candidate for the Deputy Director of Human Resources position in the Human Resources Section. The successful candidate will represent the section in a reliable and professional manner. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. The headquarter location is the Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 E. Broad Street, Columbus Ohio.

The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assists the Chief of Human Resources in defining Attorney General's goals and objectives as they relate to personnel (ex. Workforce planning, recruitment, affirmative action, personnel programs, salary analysis.)
  • Prepares administrative and confidential reports, forms and correspondence
  • Serves as backup to the Chief of Human Resources on labor relations, personnel matters, OAKS and other HR related issues.
  • Represents the Chief of Human Resources on related committees (ex. collective bargaining teams, recruitment).
  • Acts on behalf of Chief of Human Resources in their absence.
  • Supervises assigned personnel (ex. provides guidance on duties; sets performance standards).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Five years' experience in Human Resources or related field.

Previous OAKS experience is a plus.
