About the Role

We are seeking two experienced Float Phlebotomists to support multiple healthcare clinics across the Columbus, OH area. This role plays a vital part in providing high-quality, patient-centered laboratory services by performing on-site blood draws and preparing specimens for transport to the laboratory.

As a Float Phlebotomist, you'll serve as a key resource across various clinic sites within the Columbus market. You will be scheduled 1-2 weeks in advance, typically working at one site per day (with occasional travel between two locations). Mileage reimbursement is provided when traveling between sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws on patients of all ages, following proper collection and safety protocols.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, labeling, and specimen documentation.
  • Enter specimen data into the computer system and confirm proper labeling for courier pick-up.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile work environment; follow all infection control and safety procedures.
  • Manage daily workflow independently and efficiently throughout the day.
  • Provide excellent patient care and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in high-volume phlebotomy; must be confident performing a wide variety of blood draws (not limited to plasma).
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred, but candidates with comparable experience (such as Medical Assistants or Patient Care Technicians with extensive blood draw experience) will be considered.
  • Comfortable working independently and floating to different clinic locations as scheduled.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility for varying clinic assignments.
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Full-time, 40 hours/week.
  • Schedule varies by clinic; typical hours are between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • Floats must remain flexible for occasional earlier or later shifts; schedules are provided 1-2 weeks in advance.
  • May start the day directly from home and report to assigned clinic site(s).
  • Dress code: Solid-colored scrubs (no prints or patterns).
