As a Mobile Dental Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality dental care in long-term care facilities. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining accurate clinical records, assisting physicians with dental care, and ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the dentist with patient care, ensuring a friendly and efficient experience.
  2. Review, verify, and maintain up-to-date clinical records and medical history using electronic medical records.
  3. Ensure the integrity of all documentation.
  4. Update patient odontograms during each patient encounter.
  5. Efficiently pass instruments and supplies to the dentist for treatment.
  6. Maintain the treatment area through appropriate cleaning, evacuation, and preparatory tasks.
  7. Communicate daily with the branch office to optimize the dental schedule and reporting.
  8. Manage patient flow during facility visits, including assisting with wheelchairs.
  9. Generate daily production reports and provide them to the dentist as needed.
  10. Accurately post dental charges to the appropriate providers promptly.
  11. Care for and clean medical equipment responsibly.
  12. Troubleshoot equipment issues and report them to the correct resources.
  13. Schedule and maintain regular upkeep for dental equipment.
  14. Clean all service areas used in the facility, ensuring a hygienic environment.
  15. Inspect and maintain the vehicle's cleanliness and perform basic support tasks like oil changes and refueling.
  16. Manage dental supply inventory by auditing stock, anticipating needs, and placing orders for supplies effectively.
  17. Prepare resources with minimal waste and duplication.
  18. Ensure all dental equipment operates correctly by completing preventive maintenance and following manufacturer instructions.
  19. Assist in the diagnostic process by exposing and processing digital radiographs.
  20. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices.
  21. Demonstrate strong multitasking and exceptional customer service skills.
  22. Possess a solid understanding of medical and dental terminology.
  23. Ensure a positive patient experience at all times.
  24. Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA guidelines rigorously.
  25. Communicate effectively with patients, family members, providers, and staff.
  26. Respond promptly to patient inquiries and document interactions in the EMR system.
  27. Willingness to travel up to 100% of the time.
  28. Support and comply with all compliance program components, including training and reporting suspected violations.
  29. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and PHI guidelines at all times.
  30. Adapt positively to change and assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred experience as a Medical/Dental Assistant.
  • Reliable transportation with a good driving record and valid car insurance.
  • Completed and passed a two-step Tuberculosis (TB) Skin Test.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination is preferred.
  • State radiation license or certificate is required.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to follow directions and attend to patient and doctor needs effectively.

Physical Demands:

This position requires a full range of body motion, including manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Frequent activities include standing, walking, pushing, and bending. Lifting requirements may vary but can exceed 50 pounds. Must be able to assist patients in wheelchairs and will encounter some exposure to communications and bodily fluids.
